...and in this place there lived a man. Eli. For many years the man had been a boy, and lived in and of discovery. He slept on soil and other organic matter and ate music and secreted music. His parents had told him so many things he could not remember all of them. He could remember, "Eli, who ever you end up being, make sure you end up being yourself." So off it was. Farther into the organic matter, armless/guitarless, one-eyed and without music/food or family. Among the moss. Among the cones, needles and friend tracks. Atop and below, he heard silence. Not for long. Only one breath or so. It was hilarious let me tell y... Silence. Slowly the moon disappeared, trailing clouds, shadows and scents. Slowly the sun rose, carrying color and shadows and scents. Tumbling onward he watched in awe for one more moment of silence. Silence... Silence... that is enough silence for a while. So he put on his boots and the same socks he had been wearing yesterday, and stood up, carrying his beliefs and belongings back to the world of rectangles. Quickly, noisely he strode. Down the hills, up the hills, between and around until he was home again. And, uhhhgi. He dropped his belongings... but he could not shed his beliefs. He waited and eventually bathed, but his beliefs were as if they were part of his skin. Shed and regenerated, but, nonetheless, him. He inspected his skin, his hair, his blood and eyes, and decided he needed three things. So off it was. Onward into the world of organic matter, an eternal noise maker he would be, living in and of discovery...
Name: Eli Carlton-Pearson
Musical Goals: I would like to make music that seems true to the human experience as a friend, failure, victor, lonely person, discoverer, happy person, and ultimately, as an animal.
Origin: Mill Valley, California.
Focuses: I want to explore the many realms, the slinky marsh-like and humming realms, the gruesome and runny realms, the tranquil death-like realms, the waking up and sighing/singing realms, and the dreaming realms of the guitar, acoustic and electric. I want to explore broken sounds, very heavy sounds, and I want to explore alternative instrumentations, especially with percussion. I have yet to record most of these adventures.
